Face Gua Sha Guide: 5 Steps to SPA-Level Care at Home :
Face gua sha is one of the most popular at-home skincare rituals — and for good reason. With a good facial oil and a gua sha tool, you can improve circulation, lift your contours, and reduce puffiness — no spa appointment needed.
Why Use an Aromatherapy Oil with Gua Sha?
Never gua sha on dry skin! Gliding a stone directly on skin can tug and create fine lines. A quality facial oil:
Reduces friction — the stone glides smoothly, no skin pulling
Boosts absorption — massage helps active botanicals penetrate deeper
Turns it into a ritual — natural aromas make it a calming self-care moment
✨ Try it with : Field Green Face Firming Serum Oil — grapeseed oil base, light and non-greasy.
5-Step Face Gua Sha Routine -
Preparation : Warm 3-5 drops of oil between your palms, press gently over the whole face, Hold the gua sha tool at a 15-degree angle to the skin, use gentle pressure, repeat each step 3-5 times
Step 1 : Open the Lymph (Neck) From the collarbone, sweep outward and up toward the ears. This opens the lymphatic pathway so everything that follows works better.
Step 2: Define the Jawline (V-Face) From the center of the chin, glide along the jawline toward the earlobes. Pause and press slightly at the corner for a sculpted V-line.
Step 3: Lift the Cheeks (Apple) From beside the nostrils, sweep upward toward the temples along the cheekbone. Circle gently around nasolabial fold lines.
Step 4: Soothe the Eyes (Dark Circles) Using the narrow end of the tool, glide from the inner corner under the eye toward the temple. Be much lighter here — the eye area is the thinnest skin on the face.
Step 5: Relax the Forehead (Frown Lines) From the center of the brow line upward to the hairline, then from mid-forehead out to the temples. Great relief for frequent frowners and screen-time warriors.
How Often Should You Gua Sha?
Beginners: 2-3 times a week, 5-10 minutes per session
Advanced: daily during your evening skincare routine
Note : skip if you have active breakouts or wounds; drink water afterward to help flush the lymph
Common Mistakes to Avoid :
❌ Gua sha without oil → ✅ Always use enough facial oil
❌ Too much pressure → ✅ Gentle — it's a "sweep", not a "scrape"
❌ Downward strokes → ✅ Always upward and outward, against gravity
❌ Skipping moisturizer → ✅ Lock in hydration with a cream after
